Really excited to announce that Elphick’s will soon be stocking the work of the Sweden based illustrator Ingela P Arrhenius, whose illustrations are inspired by her love of 50′s and 60′s art and design. I think these prints would make a welcome addition to any child’s room. I have placed the order and will let you know just as soon as they arrive.
Valentine Bears
January 21, 2010Claire Hartigan has just dropped off her new prints. There is a special valentines edition ‘Valentine Bears’ and some super cute foxes which I will post up later. She has also delivered an original drawing of an owl which is so beautiful that I’m tempted myself! I don’t have an image but if you are around Columbia Road at the weekend please take a look.
New Artist at Elphick’s
January 20, 2010I discovered Claire Hartigan’s work last summer at ‘Fresh Meat’, an exhibition of Kingston illustration graduates at Shoreditch Town Hall. I bought several of her Otter and Bear prints (now sold out) and took a card with a view to selling her work at Elphick’s. That card got lost under a pile of papers but reappeared just before Christmas. It’s always great to discover a new artist and Claire’s work has been extremely well received with most editions close to being sold out. She is definitely one to watch and these little gems are a very affordable £12 each.
New prints are arriving tomorrow but for now please enjoy these. They are available to buy online at www.elphicksshop.com

September 16, 2008Fashion Find
September 11, 2008I love trawling around the antique markets and especially so today as I stumbled upon on this great fashion find. I think it is a fashion students portfolio from the late 60′s early 70′s. It’s full of fantastic illustrations just like these, all hand drawn in pen and ink and painted in gouache. They have amazing descriptions in letraset too. I am going to window mount them and sell them in Elphick’s real soon but until then you can enjoy them online.
Charley Harper
May 29, 2008A friend introduced me to Charley Harper’s work and I fell in love with it immediately.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio he was a modernist artist and illustrator best known for his graphic and stylized depictions of birds and wildlife.
Here are some examples of the greetings cards I have for sale at Elphick’s.
