I first discovered Bryan Pearce’s work in 2001 on a holiday in St Ives Cornwall and I have been a HUGE fan ever since.
Bryan was born in St Ives in 1929 and suffered from Phenylketonuria which affects the normal development of the brain.
He was encouraged to paint by his mother and attended the St Ives School of Painting from 1953 to 1957.
He was one of the leading naive artists who was often compared with Alfred Wallis.
Bryan sadly died in January 2007.
The image below is a print that I have in my collection called St. Just in Roseland.
