Narcissus

April 20, 2009

I visited RHS Wisley last week to take pictures in preparation for The Chelsea Flower Show, (more of that later). Wisley was a wash of springtime colour and this sea of daffodils was stunning.

Happy Campers

April 16, 2009

We had a fantastic camping holiday in Lyme Regis over the Easter weekend. Glorious sunny days and starry starry nights. We discovered some new, very quaint English villages, my favourites being ‘Beer’ and ‘Branscombe’. Lots of car boots, charity shops and vintage shops, perfect!

I picked up this old postcard of the harbour at Lyme, I love the colour and print quality but it also reminds me of hours spent relaxing on the beach…a far cry from scenic Hackney!

Dummy Cat

April 7, 2009

I was recently introduced to the work of David Weidman through my good friend Polly Banks. Weidman, who is based in Los Angeles was a prominent artist in the advertising and animation studios in the 50’s and 60’s. His works were produced as limited edition silk screen prints and I am looking forward to stocking these vintage collectables at Elphick’s, troubles is…. which ones do I choose? I had this trouble choosing Charley Harper’s work and I have a feeling that David Weidman’s prints are going to be just as popular.

Here is one of my favourites ‘Dummy Cat’ for you to enjoy for the moment and I will let you know just as soon as they have arrived.
