Bird in Bloom

This is a new print by me (Sharon Elphick) which I am launching at the RHS Chelsea Flower show (there is more information about that further on in the blog). I’ve been busy with the scalpel and camera again, photographs taken at RHS Wisley and Kew Gardens have been lovingly cut out and collaged together in the shape of a bird. The original artwork has been reproduced as a Fine Art Digital Print (Giclee) with archival inks on 315gsm ‘Davinci Archival’ watercolour paper.

Semiphore

James Brown’s prints are selling like hot cakes so he’s certainly a welcome, new addition at Elphick’s. Hot off the letterpress is this brand new limited edition print titled ‘Semiphore’. Available in an edition of 50, signed and numbered by the artist the print measures 35cm x 53cm and costs £58.

As Good Today As It’s Always Been

Columbia Road has been awash with film crews over the last couple of days. Filming has been taking place down Ezra Street for a Hovis ad so it’s been looking rather Victorian.

 

On the Head

I am busy putting together images for my online store which should be up and running real soon. This is one of my favourite images by Julie Westbury, titled ‘On the Head No.4’. It is an original collage with cuttings from vintage National Geographic Magazines.  We have lots more here at Elphick’s at £118 each.

Chelsea Flower Show

I am exhibiting on a group stand with Design Nation at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I will be exhibiting alongside Carole Waller, Chris Eckersley, Ella Doran and Katy Holford. You will find us on Stand Number CW/04 from 19 – 23 May 2009. I am very excited about being involved in such a prestigious show and having been to Chelsea for several years as a visitor I am feeling very privileged to exhibit there. I’m sure it is going to be fantastic exposure for my work as well as my shop Elphick’s, better still I will be able to view the Show Gardens early in the morning before all the crowds arrive.
